The Japanese Garden, A Meditation Center

Japanese Gardens for meditation.
When invited to comment on Japanese Gardens and meditating, there are those "old school" gardeners who deride meditation gardens whether these are created in shallow garden planters,or in bowls or containers for indoor use. But experience has shown in recent times that Japanese Gardens are attracting fans of zen meditation in ever increasing numbers. Not only is meditating in the garden an outlet for the urge to grow things that exists in most of us, but it gives even the most skillful gardener an opportunity to provide that extra care and attention so necessary if meditating success is to be achieved with plants that require a little TLC. Fountains and Japanese Gardens go hand in hand. Many concrete water features are available in Japanese or Zen themes. Choose a fountain for your Japanese garden that fits your own style of meditation.

Japanese Gardens are Perfect for Meditating in Urban Settings
In our cities millions are condemned to an existence lightened only by displays in the public parks, and the occasional bunch of flowers that the arrives in the household. A meditation garden provides hours of endless enojoyment, and permits the exercise of spiritual skill and ingenuity, and through the satisfaction of the creative urge expressed through yoga does a great deal to bring balance spirituality and new age influences into the life of the modern urbanite.

It is a pity that such meditation gardens cannot be made and distributed through the US Mail. The packing and transport of a ready-made garden is very difficult. Nor do our chain stores appear to have awakened to the fact, as their French counterparts have done, that there is a very large market for indoor meditation gardens. It is almost impossible to go into a store in the USA and buy even the raw spiritual components of such a retreat type garden, let alone the finished article. But while this apparent lack of marketing acumen on the part of our stores may regard the progress of the indoor garden, at least the would be owner of such a meditation landscape will have the joy of making it himself from scratch.

The Principles and Practices of Japanese Gardens
With this website, we're trying to fully describe, the principles and practice of Japanese gardens and miniature gardening. We will draw aside the veil which has existed for many years, shrouding the the Japanese gardening technique of dwarfing trees, and this in itself will make this website of inestimable value to many gardeners, and may bring some converts to Japanese Gardens!

Japanese Gardens and Miniature gardening is a hobby that adults and children can embrace and enjoy and which will lead them to a full appreciation of the pleasures that can come from the pursuit of Japanese Gardens in a larger sphere. And if it is possible to place this information in the hands of those responsible for the care of the disabled and physically handicapped, that would be wonderful. We have seen crippled children awakened to an interest in life through nothing more miraculous than a miniature garden. Young and old, healthy and sick, Japanese Gardens are for everyone!
